How to Apply for a Pakistan e-Visa

Before You Start

• A passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival, with blank pages.
• A digital photo that meets the photo requirements.
• A clear scan of your passport photo page.
• Hotel bookings or a Letter of Invitation, plus your itinerary.
• An email address, a phone for two-factor authentication, and a Visa or Mastercard.

Pakistan e-Visa Application, Step by Step

1. Create an accountGo to visa.nadra.gov.pk and register with your email. The system uses two-factor authentication, so keep your phone with an authenticator app to hand.
2. Start a new applicationChoose the visa category. Most visitors need Tourist / Visit; business travellers need the Business category.
3. Select entries and durationPick single or multiple entry. If you will leave Pakistan and return, for example to China over the Khunjerab Pass, choose multiple entry.
4. Fill in personal and passport detailsType your name, date of birth and passport number exactly as printed in your passport.
5. Add travel detailsEnter your arrival date, length of stay, places you will visit and your address in Pakistan (first hotel or host).
6. Upload documentsPhoto, passport scan, accommodation proof or Letter of Invitation, and itinerary, in the format and size requested.
7. Review and payCheck every field, then pay the fee by card. The fee is non-refundable.
8. Track and downloadFollow the status in your account and respond quickly if more documents are requested. When approved, download and print your e-Visa.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Using an unofficial website that looks like the government portal.
• A name spelled differently on the passport, booking and form.
• Blurred, dark or cropped photo and passport scans.
• Choosing single entry when your route leaves and re-enters Pakistan.
• Applying as a tourist for business meetings, or the other way round.
• Not checking email during processing and missing a request for documents.

After Your e-Visa Is Approved

Print your e-Visa and keep a copy on your phone. Since February 2026 you can complete your arrival card in advance on NADRA's Pak-ID app. At immigration, show your passport, e-Visa, return ticket and first hotel booking. If you will visit restricted areas, check whether you also need a NOC.
