SIKH HERITAGE IN PAKISTAN

Sikh Yatra Tours to the Holiest Gurdwaras

Many of the holiest places in Sikhism are in Pakistan: Nankana Sahib, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born; Kartarpur Sahib, where he spent his final years; Panja Sahib, with his handprint in stone; and Lahore, the birthplace of Guru Ram Das Ji and the capital of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Our Sikh yatra tours visit these gurdwaras with respect and care. We plan unhurried time for darshan, kirtan, langar and seva, help with entry formalities and registration, and provide comfortable hotels and private transport with a Sikh heritage guide.

How to Plan a Sikh Yatra in Pakistan

01

Gurpurabs and festivals

Many yatris time their visit for Vaisakhi in April at Panja Sahib, Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Gurpurab in November at Nankana Sahib, or the Shaheedi Purab of Guru Arjan Dev Ji in June at Dera Sahib. These are very busy times, so book early.

02

Visas for yatris

We provide a Letter of Invitation for most nationalities, including Sikhs from the UK, Canada, the USA and Europe; see our Pakistan visa guide. Indian yatris usually travel under special government arrangements, and we can advise on the process.

03

Etiquette

Cover your head, remove your shoes and wash your feet before entering a gurdwara. Tobacco and alcohol are not allowed, and modest dress is expected.
