The mountains of Hunza, Chitral and the Karakoram Highway are best from April to October, while Lahore, Punjab and Sindh are best from October to March, when the plains are cool. Kalash festivals follow their own calendar in May, August and December. Read our guide to the best time to visit Pakistan.
Pakistan is a conservative country. Dress modestly, with arms and legs covered, and carry a scarf for visits to mosques and shrines. Always ask before taking photos of people, especially women and the Kalash community.
Foreigners register at police checkpoints in some regions, which our team arranges. We provide a Letter of Invitation for your visa; see our Pakistan visa guide. Travel insurance is essential; read our travel insurance policy. Government advice such as the UK's Pakistan travel advice is also worth reading before you book.
