The community programme of The Golden Adventure, focused on the two things that change a woman’s life the most: her health and her education.
Our guests travel through valleys where women hold families and communities together. Yet in many remote areas, they are the ones with the least access to a doctor or a classroom. That is where we want to help.
In many mountain villages, the nearest clinic is hours away, and women often put off care until a problem becomes serious.
Distance, cost and a lack of basic supplies mean girls are often the first to stop going to school.
When a woman is healthy and a girl stays in school, the benefit reaches her whole family and her community.
TGA Cares did not start with TGA. In 2022, while still a high school student at Cadet College Hasanabdal, our founder Muhammad Waleem launched Ar Razzaq Foundation, a student-led NGO serving communities in Gilgit-Baltistan. It grew to 30 chapters across Pakistan and one in the United States.
Even then, his plans included scholarships for underprivileged girls and support for women starting their own businesses. TGA Cares carries that same commitment forward, and every journey with us helps it reach further.
TGA Cares runs two projects. We would rather show you real steps than big promises, so each one shows exactly where it stands today.
Diamoro, a village in Chilas, Diamer, near Nanga Parbat, has no hospital or clinic. In partnership with Vanderbilt University, USA, TGA held a free medical camp there, the first the village had ever seen. We plan to bring camps like this to more remote villages every season.
Each camp aims to offer
We are shaping this project with local schools and community leaders, so it meets real needs from day one. Our goal is simple: help more girls stay in school and finish their studies.
Areas we are looking at
We work through local schools, health professionals and community leaders who know what women and girls in their area actually need.
After every medical camp and education initiative, we update this page with what was done, where, and how many people it reached.
We would rather serve the same communities well for many years than visit many places once.
TGA Cares grew out of the same mountain communities that welcome our guests. The guides, drivers, cooks and porters who make your trip possible come from these valleys, and their families face the same long distances to clinics and schools that our projects try to shorten.
When you travel with The Golden Adventure, you are working with a local company that wants tourism to leave something good behind. Our trips use local guesthouses, local crews and local suppliers wherever we can, from the Hunza Valley to Skardu and the trail to Fairy Meadows. TGA Cares is how we go one step further, with focused work for women and girls.
If you would like to learn more about TGA Cares during your visit, tell us when you plan your trip. Travel partners who share these values can read about working with us on our partner page, and you can read more about our team on the About Us page.
Whether you are travelling with us, sending guests our way, or working in health or education yourself, we would love to hear from you.
Ask us what the next medical camp or school needs before your trip. A few supplies in your bag can go a long way.
Support a project with us and share its impact with your own travellers.
If you work in healthcare or education and care about women and girls in remote Pakistan, let's work together.
