Lakes, Dunes and Mountains
Skardu has something for every child: lakes for boating, sand dunes for running, a fort to explore and wide open plains to spot marmots. It is also one of the easiest places in the north to reach, with direct flights from Islamabad.
On the Skardu Family Tour you visit Shangrila and Upper Kachura lakes, play on the dunes of the Katpana cold desert, explore Shigar Fort and, in summer, ride a jeep to the Deosai Plains.

Day 1Arrive in Islamabad
Our team meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel.

Fly to Skardu (weather permitting). Evening on the dunes of the Katpana cold desert.

Visit Shangrila (Lower Kachura) and Upper Kachura Lake, with a boat ride and picnic.

Drive to Shigar to explore the fort, its gardens and the old village.

Jeep ride to the Deosai Plains to see marmots, wildflowers and Sheosar Lake (June to September).

Deosai is over 4,000 metres high. We visit for the day only and return to Skardu to sleep.
