The Pakistan & Bangladesh Overland Tour is a 21-day journey across South Asia, from Islamabad and Lahore through India via Delhi and Kolkata to Bangladesh, with Dhaka, the mosque city of Bagerhat, the Sundarbans mangroves and the tea gardens of Srimangal.
This journey crosses the full width of South Asia, from the Indus in Pakistan to the great delta of the Ganges and Brahmaputra in Bangladesh. Pakistan and Bangladesh share a long history, and travelling between them overland shows the variety of the region.
The Pakistan Bangladesh Overland tour visits Islamabad, Taxila, Hunza and Lahore, crosses into India at Wagah (when open), travels via Delhi to Kolkata, enters Bangladesh at Petrapole–Benapole, and explores the mosque city of Bagerhat, the Sundarbans, Dhaka and the tea country of Srimangal.

While the Wagah border is closed, the route is connected by flight. You can also travel directly between Pakistan and Bangladesh by air and combine any of our Pakistan tours, such as the Indus Valley Civilization Tour, with a trip to Bangladesh.
Before you travel, read our Pakistan visa guide and our advice on travel insurance, or browse all our overland tours from Pakistan.

The Wagah–Attari border has been closed to foot traffic since April 2025. While it is closed, we connect Pakistan and India (or Pakistan and Bangladesh directly) by flight, and the tour runs on request. The India–Bangladesh border at Petrapole–Benapole is normally open to foreign travellers.
You need visas for Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. We help with letters and advise on the best order to apply.
In Pakistan our own team runs your trip. In the second country we work with trusted local partners, so you have guides, drivers and hotels arranged on both sides of the border.
